City Manager - Eric Holmes
City Manager Eric Holmes has worked at all levels of government, including 15 years of experience in public administration.
During his professional career, he has served as:
- Planning Director for the City of Washougal
- City Manager of Battle Ground
- Chief Operating Officer for MacKay & Sposito, Inc., (a private consulting firm)
- Economic Development Director for the City of Vancouver, where he was responsible for strategic development and redevelopment throughout the City of Vancouver, as well as oversight of business recruitment, retention and expansion programs. Among targeted investment areas citywide, most notable are the City Center Vision plan district and Downtown Vancouver Waterfront Redevelopment project.
Following his appointment as Economic Development Director, Eric was tapped to fill the role of Assistant City Manager for the City of Vancouver.
With the help of Eric’s leadership, a unified Management Leadership Team has been developed that continues to provide a solid foundation for the City of Vancouver’s organization.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Eric holds both a bachelor of arts in planning, public policy and management from the University of Oregon and a master’s of public administration from Lewis & Clark College.
He is an executive board member of the Columbia River Economic Development Council (CREDC), a member of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Legislative Committee and Washington State University Vancouver Advisory Council.
