Calendar Date:Monday, May 29, 2017 (All day)
Support and honor our military heroes, past and present, at the Race to Remember Memorial Day walk/run.
Races include a half marathon, 10K, 5K and Honor Mile Walk.
Races all start at the Vancouver “Remembrance Wall” on Columbia and Phil Arnold Way. The half marathon, 10K and 5K Route is an out and back course on the Columbia River trail. The first half mile is our Honor Mile, where we will line the pathway with the American flags and pictures of military fallen heroes. The Honor Mile is a community walk and meant for us to slow down as a community and remember the sacrifice of our military heroes. After the run, participants and visitors can enjoy vendors and meet local veterans.

Proceeds benefit Race to Remember, a nonprofit organization that hosts several events throughout the year, including three races, organize military care packages, and engage with the community by coordinating such projects as “Soldier in the Classroom," “Thank You Cards” and “Books for Soldiers." Race to Remember's immediate goal is to form partnerships with local business and other veteran organizations to help us best serve veterans in our communities. Their long-term goal is to establish a college scholarship for the Fallen Heroes children and spouses.
Proceeds will also benefit PureKraze, which helps build homes for homeless veterans.
