Crossing the American West to arrive in the Oregon Territory was no easy feat. Today, we honor those early settlers and the women and men who braved the trail.
This bronze, larger-than-life rendition of a pioneer woman and three children is one of Vancouver’s oldest artworks. It was acquired in 1928, when Vancouver banker E.G. Crawford donated $10,000 to commission nationally renowned artist Avard Fairbanks to create this tribute to local history.
