Whether you're planning your own event at a City of Vancouver park or facility or looking to join in one of the many community events that Vancouver Parks and Recreation supports, you'll find the information you need here.
About Our Community
In 2013, the population of Clark County was 435,000; double that of 25 years earlier. Growth has continued to exceed state and national rates. In the past several years, Vancouver Parks and Recreation has made it a priority to provide events year-round that bring opportunities for residents and visitors to interact with each other and our parks and natural areas.
This effort follows one of the Community Goals outlined in the Vancouver Comprehensive Parks, Recreation and Natural Areas Plan which is to enhance opportunities for public art in parks and special facilities, including performance art and temporary art installations.
Attending a Community Event or Planning Your Event
The City of Vancouver hosts or sponsors dozens of events every year including Second Saturdays at the Water Resources Education Center, Tree Talks and Workshops with Urban Forestry, Family Fun Days at our Community Centers, the Recycled Arts Festival, Community Tree Lighting for the Holidays, and our popular Summer Concert Series and Summer Movies in the Park Series.
All of these events and many more put on by people in the community are listed on our Calendar of Events. Have you planned an event in the City of Vancouver or in surrounding Clark County? Submit it to the calendar to get more eyes on it. Please read the guidelines for submission before adding your event.
If you're in the early planning stages of your event and intend to hold it on public space (sidewalks, roads, City property such as a park) you'll need a Special Events Permit.
Renting Parks or Community Center Facilities
Are you looking to rent a picnic shelter or a room in one of our community centers for a birthday party, wedding, family reunion, anniversary or another event? Visit our Rentals, Events and Fees page to get the rental process started.
