Do you like birds, butterflies, bees and flowers? Do you have lawn that you would like to convert to wildflower pollinator patches? This workshop is for you!
Join Clark Conservation District, Vancouver Bee Project and the City of Vancouver in a meadowscaping workshop at the Water Resources Education Center. Removing lawn and planting with native plants help conserve water and provide premium habitat for pollinators and birds. In this free hands-on workshop, learn the basics of how to convert your lawn into a bustling pollinator patch. Participants will plant a garden patch that has been in the solarization phase since spring and remove an adjacent patch of lawn that will be planted the following year.
We will be outside, rain or shine. Expect to be mostly stationary, planting seeds and cutting and removing sod.
This workshop is geared toward adults, but all are welcome. Advance registration is required, and the event is limited to 30 people. You will receive a confirmation letter with full event details and meeting location after registration.
