Accessibility Barriers and Complaints

The City of Vancouver is committed to ensuring its built environment and website are accessible and inclusive to people with disabilities. If you are experiencing accessibility barriers or feel that you have been discriminated against based on disability, you have options.

Report accessibility barriers

If you or someone you know encounters an accessibility barrier (i.e. sidewalks, curb cuts, city-owned or occupied buildings, parks, parking lots, web apps, digital information, etc.), please submit an accessibility barrier report.

Complaints and grievances

This grievance procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”).

In accordance with the requirements of title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the City of Vancouver will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities based on disability in its services, programs or activities.

This grievance procedure may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination based on disability in the provision of services, activities, programs or benefits by the City of Vancouver. For employment-related complaints of disability discrimination, please refer to the City’s employment policies.

If you are a member of the public with a disability and you are having difficulty with a City of Vancouver employee, office or department or you feel you are experiencing discrimination based on your disability, the ADA Coordinator can provide information and assistance or you may file a complaint.
