Note that alterations to existing mechanical systems shall meet WSEC C503.4 requirements. Mechanical units need to be “right-sized” based on load calculations and cannot reduce the existing economizer capacity.
Plans
- Site Plan or Roof Plan
- Drawn to scale
- Aerial views such as GIS or Google maps are acceptable
- Show equipment location relative to building and other equipment
Documents
- Signed and Dated Application Form
- For installation or replacement of HVAC equipment only, use Mechanical Permit Commercial (MPE) Application Form (PDF)
- When project includes structural framing or significant ductwork modifications, wall/roof penetrations, commercial kitchen hoods or mechanical work related to another project, use the Commercial, Multi-Family & Industrial (CMI) Application Form (PDF)
- Supplemental Form – Commercial Mechanical Equipment (PDF)
- Equipment Specifications
- Structural Calculations, required when:
- New equipment weighs more than 400 pounds or
- Replacement equipment weighs more than existing equipment or
- Replacement equipment is in new location
