Plans

1. Site Plan
   • Include design wind speed and exposure
   • What to include on a residential site plan
2. Layout Plan
   • If located on roof, then Roof Plan
   • If freestanding solar structure, then Structural Plan
3. Electrical Plan
   • If net metering, then Production Meter must be shown on the one-line drawing

Documents

1. Signed and Dated Residential Additions, Remodels, Accessory Structures Application Form (PDF)
2. Manufacturer’s installation instructions for V = 97 mph wind speed or engineering
3. Product Specifications
   • Photovoltaic panels and modules shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 1703
   • Inverters shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 1741
   • Systems connected to the utility grid shall use inverters listed for utility interaction
4. Engineering required if total dead load of modules, supports, mountings, raceways, and all other appurtenances weigh more than 4 pounds per square foot.
5. Signed OTC Building Permit Checklist for Residential Solar Photovoltaic Systems Form (PDF)
   • On line 9, enter total dead load of system (lbs/ft²)
6. Signed OTC Electrical Permit Checklist for Residential Solar Photovoltaic Systems Form (PDF)
