What is a Field Evaluation Permit?

This is an initial assessment (inspection only) to determine the extent of fire damage (or other unexpected event) or work subject to building code. You should get this:

Clean-up is required prior to inspection for fire, water damage and the like: debris (including damaged drywall) and personal belongings must be cleared before you schedule your inspections

Please follow the steps below to get started.

Apply online

City staff will enter your application and email you a permit number.

Pay fees
  • Online payment requires an ePermits Payment Account.
  • Payment by check may delay inspections due to processing times.

Reply to email from city staff
  • After City Staff know fees are paid, they will email you the permit and inspection card.
  • Print both the permit and the inspection card; they must be on site.

Schedule inspections
  • 260 – Investigative Inspection BLD
  • 770 – Investigation Electrical
