Brickyard Park

Join youth leaders from the City’s Youth Climate Leadership Program for a day of learning and planting trees at Brickyard Park. Trees help cool urban environments, reduce air pollution and increase green space for everyone to enjoy. The event will take place in a part of Vancouver that has less than 14% canopy cover, come help us increase that by planting trees!
In partnership with the Urban Forestry team, youth leaders will introduce participants to the issue of urban heat islands and how the city is working to increase tree canopy in high priority areas to help mitigate the effects of climate change. Volunteers will help plant trees throughout Brickyard Park. Training, gloves, tools, water and food will be provided. This opportunity is family-friendly and great for teens. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Youth under 18 must bring a signed minor consent form.
Sign up now to learn from Vancouver’s youth leaders and help increase the green canopy in the Carter Park neighborhood.
