Parks and Recreation Volunteer Opportunities
City of Vancouver Volunteer Programs supports parks and recreation activities with a variety of programs for people of all ages and abilities. Volunteers are an important asset to the operation of our community centers, sports programs and camps.
By volunteering at our parks, trails, sports fields and recreation centers you can:
- Build up Vancouver’s community
- Ensure the continuing vitality and health of our natural areas
- Spend time out in nature
- Gain important skills and experience
- Meet new people, build lasting relationships and have fun!
Get outdoors and gain new awareness of local ecosystems and wildlife habitats by volunteering at one of our parks, trails or open spaces. We collaborate with Volunteer Programs to offer many outdoor and environmental volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer Opportunities in Recreation
Volunteers play an important role in helping to provide quality programs and extending the reach of recreation programs. Looking for an ongoing position? Interact with visitors at the front desk of a community center, take a hike with seniors or coach a youth sports league.
50 and Better
Welcome 50+ travel and hike program volunteers. Thank you for your time and expertise in providing these valuable programs for our community. In an effort to bring more efficiencies to our program and test new best practices, we have developed this webpage to provide access to volunteers for important travel and hike planning documents. See below for PDF forms, the new Vancouver Parks and Recreation volunteer handbook and more.
