Vancouver Police arrest man armed with a samurai sword

On February 4, at approximately 5:34 p.m., multiple 9-1-1- callers reported a male in the 400 block of SE 192nd Avenue walking in traffic, armed with a samurai sword. The male continued toward a Walmart (430 SE 192nd Avenue) parking lot and was screaming and threatening to hurt people. The male suspect entered the Walmart just prior to police arriving.
Officers immediately began evacuating the store and quickly located the suspect inside the store. Officers were able to gain compliance from the suspect who surrendered to police. In addition to the samurai sword, the suspect also had a 5-inch knife in his pocket. There were no injuries during this incident.
The suspect, Ravi Saxena, 43 years of age, was arrested for Felony Harassment, Dangerous Weapon and Displaying a Weapon.
