Vancouver Police begin installation of in-car cameras

On September 26, 2023, the Vancouver Police Department will begin the process of installation of front-facing and rear passenger cameras in all Vancouver Police patrol vehicles and several detective vehicles. This process is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete and involves camera installations in approximately 120 vehicles. This is the second and final phase of implementation of the department camera program.
In March 2023, the department launched the first phase of the program by issuing body worn cameras to all sworn personnel.
