Vancouver Police investigate fatality collision

On February 18, Vancouver Police responded to the 8100 block of NE Parkway Dr. for a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. The driver was pulling out of a parking lot, making an eastbound turn onto Parkway Dr. when he struck a pedestrian who was either walking on the sidewalk or along the edge of the roadway. According to the driver, he did not see the pedestrian as he pulled out into the roadway. The pedestrian, a 37-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The driver remained on scene and there were no signs of impairment.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation. This is the second fatal traffic crash investigated by the Vancouver Police Department in 2024.
